Great Bay Services provides unique community-based programs that are educational, innovative, and fun for clients.
We strive to enrich the lives of the people that we serve while assisting them in reaching their potential. Through a specialized hybrid model, activities are created to maximize the independence of our clients.
Great Bay Services offers a wide selection of educational programs, trips, and events, so that each individual we serve can revel in each new skill they learn, each new activity they participate in, and each new opportunity to grow.
Great Bay Services was founded in 1954 by ten families who - finding no local services for their loved ones with intellectual & developmental disabilities - decided to create their own. To this day we pride ourselves on treating our community as family. The Executive Director is herself the sibling of an adult with I/DD.

Community Supports
At Great Bay Services offers a wide selection of educational programs, trips and events, so that each individual we serve can revel in each new skill they learn, each new activity they participate in, and each new opportunity to grow. Currently, all programs are being held virtually.
During normal circumstances, GBA clients are taken on outings to the library, to the local YMCA, and to regional sporting events. We go bowling, host music therapy and performing arts classes, learn about music, gardening, cooking, and more. We also arrange volunteer efforts with local non-profits including Meals on Wheels, local libraries, senior centers, soup kitchens and more.
