Founded in 2000, Farmsteads of New England provides supportive day and residential services in a farm environment to adults with developmental disabilities.
Farmsteads of New England (FNE) is a nonprofit agency working with people who have Autism, other Developmental Disabilities, and Acquired Brain Disorders. FNE provides both day and residential services to adults as well as transition services to older students. We focus our services in rural areas and use our 2 farmsteads, in Hillsborough and Epping, as the base of our services, giving each person we support with the opportunity to participate in the various aspects of farm life if they choose.
Farmsteads of New England, Inc. (FNE) provides services for individuals with varying abilities in a rural community.
Community Participation Services (CPS aka Day Services)
Community Participation Services includes a combination of vocational and recreational activities offered both on our farmsteads and in the greater community. These are typically offered for 30 hours a week between 9:00 and 3:00 Monday through Friday, but those hours can be flexed as needed.
Supported Employment
Supported Employment is available both on our farmsteads and in the greater community. On the farmstead, we can provide vocational training and employment in the areas of animal care, gardening, baking, making crafts that can be sold, marketing, and housekeeping. In the greater community, we can assist people in finding and maintaining employment in various businesses according to the interests of the individual.
Residential Supports
Most of our residential supports are provided on our farmsteads. These are unique in that we provide each person with his/her own one bedroom apartment within a cluster of apartments on our farmsteads. This allows both maximum privacy and the ability to be as independent as possible while also having easy access to friends for socialization. We provide whatever level of support is needed, ranging from 1:1 support with awake overnight to minimal supports with daily check-ins and help with transportation and budgeting.
We occasionally also provide residential supports in other settings such as with home providers.
Community Support Services
For those individuals who need less than 20 hours a week of support, we also provide residential supports in independent apartments in the community.
